How do you handle pricing for landscaping projects?
Every property is different, so we quote after an initial site visit. We assess the space, discuss your goals, and provide a detailed estimate with itemized costs. No charge for the consultation itself. Larger projects like full landscape design typically break into phases with separate pricing for each stage.
What areas around Toronto do you serve?
We work across the Greater Toronto Area, including the city proper and surrounding suburbs. Country properties and cottages within reasonable driving distance are also something we take on regularly. If you're unsure whether your location falls within our range, just ask.
How long does a typical landscaping project take?
Small jobs like lawn installation might wrap up in a few days. A comprehensive landscape design with planting, irrigation, and hardscaping could span several weeks. Weather plays a role too. We give realistic timelines upfront and keep you updated if anything shifts.
Do I need to be home during the work?
Not necessarily. Many clients give us site access and check in at milestones. For design consultations and final walkthroughs, your presence helps. But the crew can handle day-to-day work independently.
What's included in your garden maintenance service?
Regular maintenance covers mowing, weeding, seasonal planting adjustments, pruning, and general upkeep. We tailor the schedule — weekly, biweekly, or monthly — based on your garden's needs and your budget. Think of it as keeping what you've built in good shape year-round.
Can you work with an existing garden that needs help?
Absolutely. Plenty of our clients have inherited neglected plots or gardens that have outgrown their original design. We assess what's worth saving, what needs removal, and how to bring everything back into balance.
How does the automatic irrigation system installation work?
We design a system based on your property's layout, soil type, and the plants you have. Installation involves trenching for pipes, placing sprinkler heads or drip lines, and connecting controls. Once it's in, you set a schedule and mostly forget about it. We can service and winterize systems too.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept bank transfers, credit cards, and cheques. For larger projects, we typically split payments across milestones — a deposit to start, progress payments, and a final amount upon completion.
Is there a contract or commitment for maintenance plans?
Maintenance agreements usually run seasonally or annually, but we don't lock you into rigid terms. If you need to pause or cancel, reasonable notice is all we ask. We'd rather you stay because the work is good, not because of fine print.
When is the best time of year to start a landscaping project?
Spring and early fall are ideal for most planting work. But planning can happen anytime — winter is actually great for design consultations since there's no rush. Lawn installation has a narrower window, late spring through early fall being best for sod to establish.
Do you handle commercial properties as well as residential?
Yes. We work with offices, retail spaces, small apartment buildings, and other commercial sites. The approach differs slightly — maintenance schedules tend to be more structured, and design focuses on curb appeal and low upkeep.
What happens if plants don't survive after installation?
We select species suited to Toronto's climate and your specific conditions, which minimizes failures. That said, plants sometimes don't take. We discuss replacement policies during the quoting phase, and for larger installations, a short warranty period on plant material is standard.
